he's one of few i'm still anxious to see live in action.
he doesnt play live. his girlfriend does. he just jumps around shouting into a mic.
guy is hilarious. love him. not exactly my kind of techno, but he wins massive style and humor points from me.
his remix of horrormone on tresor is probs my fave hororrist tune, or 99.9 with john selway
i remember his releases from IS and IST,
99.9 or by Disintegrator records are my fav
aye ave seen him live 3 times- gets ye bouncing nae probs - dunno if his birds even doin anythin behin th laptop tbh - defo advise to go in c him
Flesh is the fever. Class A.
Let me take you into the future!
Deep into a different time.
Let me grip onto your face...
and bring you to this new place.
Super-social amphetamine.
The queer tune of control.
The panic disorder gripping...
the entire race has a whole.
Flesh is the fever of force...
and its the sound without remorse.
Rampant is the army of disease...
that brings you to your knees!
You cant believe everything you hear.
You cant believe everything you see.
The conspiracys ever growing...
and all you can believe in is me!
These are the things, the things to come.
These are the things, the things to come.
fun as hell
you can also check out his blog @ http://www.wiretotheear.com/
its pretty good stuff usually
the ep he did with landstrumm kicks ass.
dj skinhead stuff is also nice
Can anyone else hear the distinctive sound of Keats endlessly rotating in his grave.....?
DIRE !
When it comes to the horrorist, I've never "got it"
Having said that, without him there'd be no "one night in hackney" and no mention of "progressive electro house synthesis, mate" so I guess that (in a most tenuous manner) vindicates a certain aspect of his career. Probably.
I thought his live set was totally guff tbh. If i wanted to see someone prance about on stage i would go and see britney spears - at least she dances too. No fluidity to his sets or anything! His choons are ok but not my favourites, too.
I can pretty much sign on with that. Though, I love the old Temper Tantrum stuff, the Disintegrator stuff, Koenig Cylinders, etc. While I found some of the Horrorist stuff hilariously tongue in cheek (see the lyrics for Mission Ecstacy), I've always preferred the harder hitting stuff he's worked on with less vocals. And every now and then I hear something from him that reminds me of that old Temper Tantrum stuff. I wish he hadn't left NYC.
got some temper tantrum videos on terrordrome 9 cd, crazy stuff
Hey Koma, who is Keats?
dunno, maybe john keats, the poet?
probably one of the best live performances i've ever seen, much more entertaining than watching someone click a mouse behind a laptop. his tracks contain vocals which he performs live therefore much more LIVE than most other techno 'live' PAs that you're likely to see.
the last set of his i saw was at the electrowerkz in october and he covered everything from ebm to techno to gabber to classic IS speedcore at the end, simply superb
i have bought a couple of his albums, and they are great. I love the horrorist sound, his genre vairies on his albums but keeps that sinster horrorist sound,
and the storys are great...
pish, fail, wank, crap & yer avin a laff!
I reckon ye just dont get it.
The Horrorist is great.
"Simple As"
(In a waterford scumbag accent ) IMO.
ha ha
Flesh is the fever....
Great track

i'm liking all releases on lazerslut so far, miro does a good job
well i saw horrorist live two weeks ago and he blew my feckin head off. he dressed in black, had some hand held light that created a spectacular effect especially with the black, some blokes with water pistols in balaclava's and even waltzed into the crowd at one point with his mic mid-set without a care in the world. it was one hell of a show, pissed all over anyone else i saw that night. and the distortion on the mic at one point in his set was near perfect (i think the lyrics went 'the system is kickin' or something like that). needless to say i was at the very front punching my fist in the air at that point hahahaha
brilliant. the music was great, full of attitude. it might not have been the most innovative shit you'll ever hear but the sheer performance aspect was unlike anything i've seen in techno for a long time. i urge you all to check him out...
:)
I always thought "One night in NYC" was totally overrated, but "Flesh is the Fever" is a rough arse belter of a track!
Too many pseudonyms to mention, but Narcanosis was one of my favourites. Really odd, unsettling, dark and nasty vibes. This record is one to check out:

Plays by Loftgroover etc in the late nineties. Beast!!
'in the year of 99'
what a daft record.
horrorist ok in small doses id say, nothing groundbreaking but a bizarre side of techno that there is a space for.
