What gets me is the person who posted the pic was signed to his label.

lets not take this the wrong way now everyone, no need to call the guy an arsehole at all whoever it was who did that, i here nothing but the nicest words spoken of Phillipe and rightly so, his music may not be to everyones tastes but thats irrelevant when it comes to the person involved.

No one is above a bit of ribbing though, and that pic is genuinly hilariously over pretentious.

doesnt make him a bad person though at all though, who knows the pic maybe tongue in cheek, but still either way, its a classic

Ascend wasn`t preaches label. It belonged to Jean-Michel from Montreal. Who also owned Consigned, and a few other labels under the Ascend Music Group.

Preaches label is called Relics, I believe.
And I was never signed to it.

Also, I`ve got no beef with Phillipe, he`s a lovely bloke.
He just happens to have had some aweful promo shots taken.

You have to laugh at this thread. It's without doubt a silly picture. We're allowed to laugh at it. We're allowed to joke about it.

I don't think anyone on this board is going to make serious judgments on whether someone is a 'nice', 'decent'....'fair average quality' etc etc person on the basis of a promotional picture.

I don't think I'm that shallow and i doubt the others are also.

I don't know how it works in other countries but on the big brown continent jokes like that are part of friendly banter and not taken seriously.

To prove this i'll put some pictures of myself here for all to have a laugh with until one of my mates jumps on to defend me and call the rest of you bastards for taking the piss with me. :)

Your good man, I think people tend to take offence on other peoples behalf in here on occasion.
I think we are allowed to have fun in techno land, as far as I know.
Taking the piss out of each other is all part of the game, it keeps us sane.

If I took offence to what people said all the time, I`d be constantly laying people out for shouting "Oi you dirty bastard" at gigs.
