do you use itunes? if so, go to preferences/advanced/importing/import using

then choose mp3 and the quality you want.

now, right click on your aiff file and there will be an option "convert to mp3"

Or download NCH Switch and convert. You can get a free trial version from their website.

A .rar is a compressed folder, like a zipped folder. You need to unzip it with something like 7zip:

7-Zip - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

Once you've unzipped it, you can see what format the files are in. They are most likely mp3 already, but inside the zipped folder. Once you have run 7zip, you should have a new folder with the tracks as mp3 inside.

Pretty sure most sample editors should sort this out.

Sorry mate, just remembered you're on a Mac. Don't think 7zip will work, but try this instead:

UnRarX 2.2 software download - Mac OS X - VersionTracker
