i dont think that hardstyle is anything like hard trance really - least not the records i like.... tho there are a lot with that same old hennes n cold kick that i guess are. Uberdruck is still hard trance in my opinion and i dont really buy that kinda stuff.

Hardstyle to me is some of the tunes on labels like Sigma, Wicked to an extent, Musique Electronique, Zoom, 59 etc..

The way i see it if hard house is a seperate genre to trance then why aint hardstyle different enough to be seperate? Tho having said that i dont like all the dividing up of music into different names so i take it all back.. Long live trance!

I think the name hardstyle was invented by the people who produce it rather than the people who play it, maybe a marketing ploy. To me it fits great into a hard trance set because it doesn't have the 10 minute break. But a whole set of it gets too much in my opinion they all seem to use reversed bass.

hardstyle is ok in very small doses... but the majority of the tunes are very similar... 50% of them use hennes and cold basslines (no! please no more!) and ive heard about 500 with that fudging gabba kick drum thing on the last two beats of the bar ( you know the one - BUH-WAH BUH-WAH BUH-WAH BUH-WAH BUH-WAH BUH-WAH GUNG GUNG)

trance addict do i know you? i guess you go to destiny?

Spot on mate.........Hardstyle is quality but needs some variation. Its all starting to sound the same. Its getting a bit too predictable!!

I think this is more to do with everyone imitating Brain Ovulation's Kicks & Bass, which is something I predicted would happen. Hell, 80 per cent of tunes around still have the joyenergizer woopy bit, so I don't think it'll go away too soon...
