I can't agree with your question Tony, it doesn't make sense, it's as if there's only two acts (Drexciya and Dopplereffekt) who could be possible for getting people into electro in modern times, and as if one is a legend and the other isn't? It's like a question from A Question of Sport! i.e. that there's a wrong and right answer. For what it's worth I'd plump for Drexciya as a favourite, as an act that has produced more important and long lasting results. Dopplereffekt stuff is straight up wacky fun and a nice side project, but if you want something a bit more serious it would have to be Drexciya.

yeah sunil, had a bit of trouble phrasing the question, then posted it and saw how ineffective it was. its funny though, i have lots and lots of friends who really love electro, and i mean really love electro, bboys to the max...............all of them do not like drexciya at all and much prefer the sounds of dopplereffekt (must stop comparing them as its not like they are the only 2)
maybe you have to like detroit techno to dig them, though doppelreffekt are detroit too.............doh!!
i am having real, real trouble finding anyone i know who actually likes drexciya. sure electroids gets a big thumbs up, arpanet is ok, but full on drexciya, i dont know anyone whos digging it or can mention any tune of theirs that is a 'classic', and its not like my pals are without knowledge.

i like some drexciya...really, some tracks i listened to over and over again but most of it is pretty boring in my opinion...dopplereffekt have made tedious stuff too, but they made less alltogether.
not 100 % sure if its a drex alias, but glassware - interlock...what a great tune :) i love that one, and cant really get tired of it
the best dopplereffekt stuff has been the linear accelerator album, love that too

but im still confused about the connections of it all...dopplereffekt is also japanese telecom? or just one of them? and who are they really? bit of a mystery isnt it :?:

I would say both absolutely rock along with many other Seminal electro artists!!

It was Dave Clarke and his filthy electro sets including the likes of the above that got me into Electro!!!

poll Don't know really, they both had good stuff. I love that track 2 or 3 and 5 on harnass the storm, and porn actress was great stuff too. Dopplereffekt = electro drexciya= electronica or minimal tech

Hımmm! I would say depth-wise Drexciya but Dopplereffekt had pretty strong single. There are a lot more Drexciya stuff out than Dopplereffekt. So its not really a fair comparision. Drexciya at the end ;)

I didn't listen to Dopplereffekt's Linear Accelerator. But there are alot more stronger canditates for 'legends' of electro. Both acts are both good and decent but not great.

love drexciya, plus gerald used to date my friend and i got to hang out with him a couple times (many years past). the man is one of the strangest people i've ever met...there's a lot of creative thinking going on in his head, only a small part of which has been recorded so far...

...also love aux 88 for more balls-out electro...

both are great and both have contributed equally to the scene. this question is impossible to answer it. i prefer doppler, but i could see why others would pick drexciya. its a matter of opinion really.
