loopy techno is good. its about how u mix them and layer them. a good techno dj works his tunes rather than lettin them work for him
i'd have to agree there! as far as i was aware, we dont play tracks to the crowd. the idea is to make new sounds and songs... otherwise you're just a nova fm dj mixing the last 20 secs. of a horrible dance rmx of some horrible pop song!!!Originally Posted by mattboyslim

Actually you missed a mix from Jeff Amadeus Wednesday gone, would have been up your alley I'd say. Garvan was mentioning to me last night about someone he had been doing hard (as opposed to very hard!) techno tracks with, I guess that was you? Will have to get a listen to them, he seemed pretty happy with them anyway...Originally Posted by 180mph
yup thats me alright... they are hard.. but you know garv, unless its nosebleed he thinks its pussy!!!!! i'll drop some tracks up to you at spindizzy if you wantOriginally Posted by Sunil

Sure... 145 bpm is "slow" to him :) Cool yeah, I'd like to hear 'em.Originally Posted by 180mph
will do... they're all fairly upfront techno.. not fully polished yet, as mostly done for live sets when me and garv and paul were doin damage control, but the general idea is there, just need some finishing touches

surely the whole point of loop records is to leave the breakdowns to the dj.
anybody can throw 2 loop records on top of each other, but it takes a dj to blend 3 loop trax & make sumthin happen (see Carola, Slobodan, Blackman, Misjah for details)
3 dex with lock grooves & a groovebox & djm600 is top fun
