Default Downloading MP3's & Copying CD's RIGHT or WRONG

Ive just read this on GT.com

This is the end of the Bonzai labels, XTC, Tripomatic,
Green Martian, Suck Me Plasma Benelux, Camouflage aso!

    The webpage states the following:

"THE END OF LIGHTNING... Lightning Records will be closed as of
tomorrow, no holidays, unfortunately...(check your mailbox daily for
    new updates)!"

DJ Fire aka. Fire & Ice says this:

Hopefully people will think about this when they are downloading
music from the net or copying CDs from each other. Thanks to these people we have lost a lot of sales and they are partly
responsible for the bankrupt of our company.

No one seems to know exactly what will happen..

Anyhow, this is the biggest blow to the european trancescene in
    years.. A real tragedy...
I'd just like to know what everyone thinks about d/l mp3's and copying CD's.

Forget the legality, lets talk about Morality.

is it right or wrong to d/l mp3's and copy CD's???

persoanly i dont think it matters. (no that id ever do it of cause :0)

    WHAT DO YOU THNIK??

the way i see it copying cds is no different to recording a cassette so thats fine. i have a ton of copied cds cos i had a lot of originals nicked in a break in. only things i ever buy are albums i dont know anyone with.

downloading dance tracks tho, i never do... and i wouldnt use downloaded tracks to dj with or anything. Seems a very nightclub thing to do, a dj with a pc or cd decks

This is what i see on alot of websites and piracy sites....people saying

"I wouldnt have bought the software or music anyway so they havn't lost any money."

Now i was thinking about this, and one half says its true and the other half says its not true.....it could be true in some cases but in others maybe not. it really depends how much you want it.

I think that Lightning records and talking half truth and half Bullshit ! because most people who buy music from them need it on Vinyl because they are DJ's its normally just normal listeners who download mp3's. Notice how DJ Fire says "partly responsible" sorry but i think there just looking for someone to blame.

I think its down to new styles of music taking over !

Mp3's and the accessibility of easy CD copying is a revolution in itself, and personally i dont think it will ever go away, well how can it ? im sure it will change over time and people will find better ways to make money from Mp3's and im sure you wont be able to copy CD's soon.

yeah agreed, copied forms of medium have always gone on. I do feel a little sorry for lightening records as they have released some gems but theres a lot more smaller record companies in the same - its just life im afraid.

I only download sets and movies as well, nothing will ever feel or play like vinyl anyway.
    something for your mind.........
