HINDSIGHT @ ST GEORGES HALL – 18TH June Write Up by Louk (the Human Chimp!)
Exeter’s town hall has managed to build up quite a reputation for frequent nights of Hard Trance and Techno and the latest installment of Hindsight set out to impress and did the job well! In the main room, the night kicked off steadily with Jez playing an uplifting hard trance set which worked the crowd up nicely. This was followed by DJ Ribbz who also provided MC’ing throughout the night (alongside Si The Sigh) with an onslaught of percussive techno. At 10 resident DJ and Promoter Nick The Kid delivered a fantastic hard trance workout with cuts from Tommy Pulse and Uberdruck amongst many others which easily made him set of the night in my opinion. Uberdruck, the German protégés themselves followed with a set full of their own productions which sent the crowds wild and finally in the main room London techno boy D.A.V.E The Drummer unleashed a hard selection of dark techno including tracks from his own label Hydraulix which sounded ace. While this was going on, the second room featured a multitude of local talent with Skatty and Marcio providing the first two hours entertainment before welsh legend DJ Abyss played alongside Country Club favourite D.S.R.Y.R. This was followed by a hardcore techno set from Chard’s finest DJ Wragg before Technotice owner and DJ Mark Hashimi went back to back with Major Tom of Club Diversity to finish the night off with style. If you didn’t go then you certainly missed out! Fair play to Nick for such a fantastic night.
Cheers
Louk
