    Default Is there..............

At the moment there seems to be a hell of alot of dj's playing hardstyle or claiming to be hardstyle dj's, is the uk scene big enough for this amount of dj's or will it just overkill the sound??

tbh m8 i dunno if its just round here, but mainly at the events i here hard trance & some techno & very little hardstyle. unless of course mzone is playing. so i reckon theres still a big opening for djs, although many promoters are quite snobby and look down upon the genre.

I find that strange as everywhere you look its hardstyle and the amount of hardstyle demo's i get is absolutely ***king crazy. Dont get me wrong I LOVE HARDSTYLE but can all the hardstyle dj's in the uk get a break?

i think its definitely getting harder to get a break, as im just finding out thats why with my demos i try to include hard trance and hardstyle to show promoters i can play a more diverse style. I wish i was into other genres as well so it could be even broader. Btw theres a demo headed your way addi ;)

yeah thats what i mean yosh mate, as you say you play hard trance/hardstyle but there are loads of up & coming and established dj's all playing hardstyle. To me many events dont cater for hardstyle from the start of the night to the finish and usually the peak set caters for hardstyle. so how can you fit x amount of dj's into that slot?? and how many events cater for the influx of hardstyle dj's?

that's what i try to do, makes for more interesting sets...plus if i play too much hardstyle i get to the point that it's just noise

i see wot your sayin, but round here a lot of up & comin djs dont get a shot wotever they play, purely coz promoters like to stick to their residents i rekon. ive never seen an up & coming dj booked to play hardstyle in taunton or the surrounding area. granted, i havent been to every event, but unless they give a new dj the prime time slot (which is very unlikely), no starting hardstyle dj will get a play as its all hard trance early on & hardstyle last occasionally.

that all came out very fast so i dunno if it makes sense

i don't care if anyone is hardstyle, hard trance or whatever. a good dj is a good dj. too many ppl are not getting the break they deserve because of genre classification. **** em. :dontevengothere:

yeah i understand so what we have is

    Not enuff events playing hardstyle
No events giving up&coming hardstyle dj's the chance

=Too many dj's playing hardstyle & not gotting the chance to play out anywhere!!

to be honest, all of the breaks i've had with playing out have been through knowing people and just being in the right place at the right time.

way it's always going to be i feel.

its not just genre classification though, its more that clubs dont put djs that play hard on early, so up and coming djs who do play hard never get a shot. not just hardstyle djs

lol like i have said I LOVE HARDSTYLE but to me it seems at the moment everyone wants to be a hardstyle dj which is fair... But is there enough opportunities for for young & established hardstyle dj's to go around???

in a way though i suppose a dj is limiting his own opportunities by sticking to one genre. but still, why should it be harder for a dj to succeed because he plays hardstyle?

yeh true, but wot he means is that because newcomers get early slots, not many clubs book em cause they dont want BANG BANG at 9 o clok
