    hes 29 ... thank **** tho ..he was treated like shit on the euro's being put on the left when he is like one of the most talented players england have.

    Scholes wanted to spend more time with his family which is fair enough, also he probably couldn't see himself getting his centre midfield role back as Gerrard and Lampard are 1st choice. Nobody could knock Scholes for never not giving 100% and he has had some great performances for England.

    This might give Hargreaves the chance he deserves now.

    Scholes is still a better attacking midfield player than either Gerrard or Lampard in my opinion...

    In the European Championships the Ginger one was played out of position, and since Sven came on the scene he has constantly had to put up with England reverting to a negative, long-ball game that just doesn't suit his style of play....

    Scholes best position is just behind the strikers, its a shame he didnt get a chance to play that position for england more often...
