Default whats happened to the melodic hard trance???

im talking about the 96-97 period of heart touching emotinal riffs and melodies.....now i have nothing against the harder edged sound that is coming out of germany at the moment but the idea that the classic german hard trance sond on labels like Tunnel/United Ravers is dead and gone is a sad one..

that was my fave period aswell, but the sound started to commercialise and there was a need for change. The recent sounds coming out of italy have some nice melodies, but they r hard edged, which is what ive been into for the last few years. the italians seem to have fresh ideas.

i dont think its completly dead yet, i still hear some good melodic trance every now and then, but i know what your saying, its not as touching anymore, i think everyone just wants to stomp stomp stomp these days.
Also with genres like Hard trance, Techno trance, hard uplifting trance etc that are around now work well together, were as the old melodic trance is hard to fit in to a set nowadays. This is just what i think tho
A full mix of it is spot on tho. like that cd you mixed a little ago..

around 96ish was when i was well into hard trance, m.zone was always the man for me around that time, and mark too.

can anyone tell me what that tune was of a woman saying f*ck me up the.. then the noise of a whiplash?

mark used to play it years ago. around 96/97 ish, but he didn`t know what it was....anyone?
