Dropping markers in mix????

How do i do this.

I record my mix into my creative software (could use cubase though if you think that would be more suitable)

So i have recorded my mix, but if i drop the markers they dont save?
Also i won't get a gap would i between tracks?

What am i supposed to do. If someone can just explain the whole thing in what to do that would be great.

sorry, i am not familar with creative software, i use wavelab to burn to cd with track markers in.
