Yeah, it's been gone for 2 days innit. Wonder whats happening.. To be honest I suspect it's a DOS attack rather than anything else - they were certainly acting legally when it disappeared.

seems like they got some of the noise of an illegal site - but didn't make any money before being hammered. really poor judgement.

No, they took off all the samples 2 weeks before they went down. In terms of poor judgement I guess time will tell - about 100 times more people have now heard of them than would have otherwise.

Well I would definately choose one of their competitors (like www.trackitdown.net) for distribution after that trick. Collaborating with them would be like putting your tracks on the new Napster - just wrong.

Well... each to their own is all I can say! I was quite impressed with their resourcefullness to be honest.

That said, it's very simple to run yer own mp3 download site - if independence is what you're really after.

Well I won't be putting my stuff there, and I know a lot of people who feel the same, they were damn cheeky, especially as they were sending e-mails out 6 months ago asking for licencing requests, to which I never replied, they still put my stuff up.. you can call it resorcefull if you like, but I very much doubt many people in the industry are going to want to work with them after this...
