    Default Lazy Productions

Having spent a day on Monday going through all the tunes i've missed since being away, I really noticed that the quality of the tunes seems to be going downhill very rapidly. Hardstyle definitley seems easier to produce than the Hard Trance tunes of yesterday, and it seems that every man and his dog thinks that they can now produce a decent tune. My impression was that the scene is becoming saturated with poor, cringe worthy productions - which is enough to kill a genre very quickly. I just wish that the labels would force more quality control so that this could be avoided.
I won't name any of the tunes that I thought were really bad as examples, as I don't really want to offend anybody on here that might have bought them and liked them. What do you guys think though? Agree or disagree?

yes i agree mate, hardstyle seems to be exploding very quickly at such an early stage. Dont get me wrong there is some excellent releases still coming out but when i was looking at one website i went through 30 tunes of labels I usually check out and found 3 stormers and about 5 i would consider, that leaves over 20 which sounded exactly the same. I do hope this doesnt continue as 6 months ago i was struggling to keep up with quality releases!
    something for your mind.........

i know what you mean about killing a genre quickly by poor productions, and tunes that sound very similur, this reminds me of hard house, but i dont think hardstyle will go this way too soon. but with hearing that nukleuz are starting a new label and the amount of new hardstyle tunes that are coming out at the moment, i dont know how much longer it can survive? it is also true i think that they are easyier to produce so this maybe part of the problem.
i think labels should select what productions come out more carfully. but saying that, ppl have different tastes, and someone who finds a tune total bollox, another might find quality...

I agree with this, but I think Uberdruck and the crows production is spot on.
Hardstyle is very hard and dark, but maybe if they produced some stuff that was a little bit more uplifting or using different samples and experimenting a bit more.
Bassline for a start, on most hardstyle and hard trance stuff, the bass line always is on the hi hat..errmmm...how can I explain.....like BAM WUH BAM WUH BAM WUH.anyone know what I mean? :?

I would agree... It's almost like each label is too scared to not hurray all the releases they can out incase another label does and get's all the credit/sales for it.

Call it a Record Label Cold War.

i 100% agree. and if you're sometimes buying on the phone (like i do) this can be very frustrating and a complete waste of money.

i got about 50 hardstyle records in the last two weeks and at least 20 of them were awful production. you just don't get this with hard trance.

ive lost count of the amount of hardstyle tunes that are just updating old tunes... some of them are really good, such as impulse,by the stone . but some just go straight over the top of my head!
