Well, minimal techno is not something I'd expect to blow up in the magazines too much. It's not as cool as Electroclash and a lot of its players like Villalobos, Luciano or whoever, don't seem to be as desperate for front page stardom as for instance your Marco Baileys or Mauro Picottos; in short, I wouldn't expect the coverage it gets to be damaging to the music in any way. I don't think there's anything wrong with Liebing doing a CD of it or including minimal techno on a CD, but I do think it sends out a slightly false reading of what he's at when you wouldn't actually see him play this stuff in a club too much, if at all.
