2000XL is the studio destroyer..MPC1000 travels with me now. both have good and bad points but are essential for the techno I make.
They're like 8 armed brutes beating up all the gear.
Ahh shit, tha Tonewrecka's in the house!!

i live by my 2000xl. i recently figured out how to play scales of sample on it via the 'autochromatic assignment' feature. no more static bass loops, but now evolving, rolling madness :-)
can you do that on a 2000?Originally Posted by Internal Error Records
on a original 2000? i don't know. i do know an original mpc can only play one program at a time while an XL can play 4.Originally Posted by messyfuture
my advise would be to look in your manual under 'building or editing programs' or something like that.
otherwise there is a great mpc forum at www.mpc-tutor.com

Can't remeber now but it's some sort of option when u make a new program 2 have the sample pitches and mapped accross the pads. I use a 200 and an XL for a little while!
