    come on ladies, behave.haha

I havent been clubbing for a while, one of the reasons is because I dont do anything but get stoned these days, poor excuse I know, but I honestly dont trust myself not to do any class a's....fair play to people who go and dont take anything but I dont think I could do it.

I dont need drugs to appreciate music, far from it, it's more the atmosphere in a club that would make me do them again.
    lol the trance has gone

Man has been dancing to music since he first found out wacking a stick on a hollow log made a nice sound.
Drugs weren`t always a part of this.
Dance music in native culture is very rarely drug assisted.
It`s normally a ritual, putting people into a trance-like state through the use of repetative rhythms. the coming together of people dancing provides an energy in itself, and is a very powerful thing. I think this is one of the reasons why free parties were clamped down on so heavily.
For me the best music gives me the rush without the drug.
    Solitary by nature.
    Isolation is the gift.
Does anyone have courage to stand apart any more?

drugs ( the right ones) can make techno sound amazing
that's for sure. and you hear stuff that maybe isn't there or is a hidden harmonic in there somewhere and you tune into the sound system for the night.
also there's the social factor of getting trashed with some mates in a club
    that's fun too.

listening to music straight is a different story , it might not take you on a " trip " as it were but you definately get plenty out of it, maybe just in a different way , maybe you latch onto more tangible things like dj skills etc.......

being in a club is like taking drugs anyway really , it's like a sensory deprivation tank.

meaning that your senses are so overloaded that you almost start to trip out from the experience.( why do we do this to ourselves??)

drugs aren't in themeselves "dirty" or "stupid"
it's the users who make that choice

all drugs should be used with care and understanding , never underestimate what they can do to you .

i must admit though personally it was the music first
drugs came a little later and showed me a new door that had always been there just waiting for me to open it.
    love your mum

Clubbing is about the music and the socialising. Sometimes i'm in a great frame of mind and go out completely straight. Sometimes i need a few drinks to lower my inhibition and sometimes i need something a little stronger to get that frame of mind.

Either way i'm still the same person talking the same rubbish and dancing to the same music.

I love producers who can deeply layer vocal chants etc. that really only seem to come into their own when you're trashed. The A side of the last Highlands Beats by Liefhebber is a perfect example.

wether ot not the music is produced by people who take drugs or not is totally irrelevent IMO. Its still music aimed at a dancefloor full of mashed clubbers. Anyone who doesnt agree is talking shit or they are thinking too much about what it really is. I stand by my comment...its drug music. nothing more.nothing less.

thats half the problem these days since all dance music became so popular.
im sorry, but the rubbish you have posted throughout this thread really is laughable. the comments you have just made are typical of somebody who knows jack shit about the genre.

not all techno is aimed at the dancefloor. and since when did 100% of the dancefloor become regular drug users?

your comments are both degrading & insulting to the genre. why even bother to particapate on this board if you hold such a low opinion of techno?

    you cheeky ****ers..

I love music as much as anyone else here... however to me the music and the drugs go hand in hand.

not enough drug taking and too much talking about what makes a good tune or a good night out going on here,,

    F*ck this.

How the **** is that a low opinion of techno? people should NOT assume this and they should also realise their are actually different opinions to their own.

Saying its drug music is not a low opinion...to me that is what it has always been about. (and in my eyes it always will) i live and breath music and i do appreciate it when straight..however doesnt make me into a ignoramus with no respect for the genre..

start actually considdering we are not all the same (thank christ)
