Default do you take drugs when you go out?

a bit personal i know, but i'm just curious to know about my fellow techno heads and dj's alike.

I'll start the ball rolling by saying i do,but only if i'm not driving.I love techno music without the drugs,i've been playing it for 6 years, but for a party its good to loose it once in a while...

What about everyone else, especially in other countries

The hardest thing is going out regularly and taking drugs really effects the rest of your week. Most of the people I know can't do all nighters more than once every 6-8 weeks because they have kids or jobs that require them to be with it on a Monday.

I tend to try and reduce the time I go out to a 3 of hours and go later to a party/club that way you can have a few beers and smokes - and have a laugh. I trat going out a bit like a gig anyway because I'm more into the music than hugging my mates every weekend, tbh.

Pub nights are good because you then have the choice to drink or set spazed - everybody is happy. I wish London had more techno pub nights.

I do, sometimes, but I can easily enjoy parties straight, or on alcohol. I used to though, serveral years back, only go out on something...which is quite pathetic really. A few king kongs and techno still go down like a treat.

never have gone out straight and i never will.

i just dont see the point. the music we listen to is plain an simple drug music. Im not saying i dont like it unless im spannered (far from it) but its all about the drugs IMO... and it always will be.

My night would be incomplete without a big bag of pills

though idont find this thread the most clever thing posted ehre, here is my opinion :

i can be really wasted with alcohol in all kind of parties (as dj, on the dancefloor, on a non techno party) .... but ive never tried any other drug, even cigarette, once in my life. i think its the best way to be 100% youll never fall addicted though of course you dont fall addict at first time (uh, anyone tried crack ???)

so thats my state of mind, i can also not take anything to enjoy my nites, specially when i dj =)))

I used to cain it each and every weekend, sometimes from Thursday night right through to Monday morning and then go to work unable to speak to people, and with my head in a total mess. I'd spend most of the day trying not to throw up on my desk.

Now I prefer having a clear head the day after a party, and being able to go out and do something with the rest of my weekend, so I generally stay straight, and maybe only have a few beers. I still enjoy myself just as much if not more than I used to.

Occasionally I'll have a wee cheeky one if I feel like it, but in general I don't see the point now. The cons of the day after far outweigh any pros of the night before.

The advantage as far as I can see is that the music does have to be of a better quality though. When I'm hammered I find I'll dance to anything  , but when you know your going to be straight all night you make sure the place your going is going to be musically A1.

i dont really care if i remember what was played....as long as i have a good time.
I suppose i just come from the time when the drugs were better that the music

i must admit..i dont do t everyweekend like i used to though. i dont think my old and fragile mind could cope anymore.

but going out straight...**** that, i couldnt think of anything worse, i would rather stay home with a nice cup of tea than do that.

your kidding right, you sound like a member of parliament.
I don`t take drugs when going out any more (or very very rarely).
I got into this scene for the music, I make it, I listen to it at home, or whilst traveling. The drugs I discovered by accident.
Most producers I know make their music when they are straight. Music made by people on drugs, tend to appeal only to people on drugs (not always admittedly)
Now I`ve decided to be straight most of the time, I love the music still, and I want to hear it as it is, without the mental distortion of substance abuse.

Alcohol is the drug that kills more people every year than the deaths of all the other illegal drugs put together.
More people are addicted to alcohol than all the other drugs put together.
Alcohol addiction creeps up on you, and most people won`t even have a clue that they are an alcoholic.
At least a crack head knows they are a crackhead.
Alcohol is a huge bind on resources, both the health service, and the police. (due to injuries, fighting, car accidents etc)
Alcohol is a drug.
Solitary by nature.
Isolation is the gift.
Does anyone have courage to stand apart any more?

thats absolutley pathetic!

plain and simple drug music????? if you knew ur techno then you'd know that techno started with May and Co, people who claim they have never taken any narcotics in their life. 99.9% of the music is produced by people who arent on drugs, and i feel sorry for anyone who says something like "my night would be incomplete without a big bag of pills".

Im not saying i dont do drugs now and then, i do, but its not the be all and end all

I just like to smoke a big fat spliff when I'm out. I tried all sorts of dope when I was in high school, but now I only drink and smoke. I guess it's not the healthiest habit, but I tend not to think about that...

When spinning, I like to be sober, but if the gig's at 4am or something like that, I'll definetly have a drink or two to warm me up and pass the time before I start. Not too much though, or the mixing will be sloppy, which is also why it isn't good to mix if you're too stoned... I can MAKE music when I'm stoned, but my mixing tends to get more sloppy as I smoke...

Anyway, techno can be thouroughly enjoyed when sober just as much as when totally mashed, you just have to get into it... (gotta go smoke one now)

Default do you take drugs when you go out?

90% of the time im straight when out raving, djing or whatever else. 10% a bit of ching is nice if i can afford it, my head wont be mangled the next day and i can get on with every day life. There's nothing worse than sitting in the studio with your head up your arse not being able to get anything done.

The music does the work for me, dont need drugs. There shit nowadays anyway
right...where to start?

when i started going out it WAS all about the drugs. the love for the music came later though.
wether ot not the music is produced by people who take drugs or not is totally irrelevent IMO. Its still music aimed at a dancefloor full of mashed clubbers. Anyone who doesnt agree is talking shit or they are thinking too much about what it really is. I stand by my comment...its drug music. nothing more.nothing less.

thats half the problem these days since all dance music became so popular.

thats hilarious.... so your basically saying that everyone who believes in their music and others music without being on drugs is talking shit? your saying that the hundreds of talented producers and Djs who absolutely LIVE for the music (not the drugs, like u) are talking shit?

superb stuff, and there was me thinking that u actually did know what u were talking about for a while aswell.... how i was proved wrong!

but apart from that, this topic shouldnt really be in here should it?

Sam cud u move this to the insane forum please? this has nothing to do with hard or club techno ;)

if anyone's the cock here mate its you....

The sooner this scene gets back to believe its all about the drugs the better.

this sort of comment u expect from some 16 year old kid whose just started getting into drugs.... not an old timer like urself....

thing is people on these boards arnt just the normal joe clubber like on the bugged out board were, there are people here who wud literaly die for their music and that sounds extreme, but its true. to have someone whose been on the board for 5 minutes coming out with comments like that is just unacceptable really.....
