I agree with the antares. I recently installed it, and so far it's a mean machine.Originally Posted by DJ Ze Mig L

Hi mate, got the antares filter, i dont think it sounds that great. It sounds to soft compared to other filter plugins. Need to get a sherman or akai basically. Cheers for the suggestions everybody, much appreciated.
I forgot to add....
a very simple and good clean filter plug in is the Blue Filter.... one of my favorites.
you can also find the electrix filter factory on ebay for about $150. juicy analog filter with midi capablities.

If u want a harsh filter - get the Sherman. You will stuggle to a "nice" sound out of it. Bear in mind though that it acts much better on an analogue signal...
Cheers everyone for the suggestions. Would love a sherman, but they seem a bit pricey, what does anybody make of the akai mfc42 filter?
i have the sherman and the akai
the sherman can really knock the shit out of sounds while the akai is a lot cleaner and not as harsh(u can get maddnes out of it though)
but they both have there place in the studio and my live setup too.
my advice...........get both when you have the money
Cheers for the info
try ohmforce 'Ohm my god', it has built in distortion and LFO, or the old Northpole filter thats quite sick too.
Nice one alex, the north pole filter is quite cool. What would you suggest if i was to purchase a hardware filter unit?
I used to have an Electrix Filter Factory a few years ago, that was ok, its the only hardware one ive used so i cant compare it to any others im afraid. Im sold to the ease of use and convenience of the software alternatives personally though.
Cheers for replying alex, found a wicked one yesterday that does the job okay. Gotta say Subsonix 3 is wicked! The production is very tight, fair play to ya!
