Default End of year poll, charts & Acid Techno awards!

Ok, the end of 2004 is in sight, and I thought it's about time you guys shared your thoughts on all things acid, by answering the poll, putting up your Top 10 tracks of 2004 & voting in the Acid Techno "awards"

    Best producer of 2004?

Producer to watch out for in 2005?

    Best label of 2004?

Best tune / release of 2004?

    Best remix of 2004?

    Best DJ of 2004?

DJ to watch out for in 2005?

    Best PA of 2004?

Please add your Top 10 tunes of 2004, as well as your comments & thoughts on how things have been this year. Feel free to comment on anything to do with the acid techno scene, the up's, the down's, etc.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to, posts in & reads this acid techno forum. With out you guys, none of this would exist and we would all be sad lonely acid junkies wandering around cyber space looking for someone, anyone to talk to about interesting 303 patterns, instead of our daily meetings in comfort here with all the other nutters! So once again, thank you all for making this such a great forum.

    Respect...

    Si

im not really into to top 10s, but i will highlight that there has been some excellent stuff produced this year and things are looking really healthy for 2005. ups n downs of this year....Up.. we managed to start our label kick the drum...downs...getting ****ed about with kick the drum 3...but not to worry cause all will ready for december...another down...loosing part of our studio for 2 months....Up...getting it back 10 times better than the last one  ...down...mondays in work this year have been the worst so far...i just cant get my head round em....and the last up so far was having Dave the Drummer in North wales at our local club and also being able to spend all sat night and sunday have a right laugh...you dont often get the chance to have Dave the drummer come back to your house for a mix n a few beers.... ...also really looking forward to 2005 and seeing how our label progresses!

    Best producer of 2004?

    Guy Mcaffer without a doubt

Producer to watch out for in 2005?

I would say Alex Calver but I've got a feeling that Jeff Amadeus is going to stun us.

    Best label of 2004?

Skankadelic without a doubt. There's been a couple of turkeys on that label but the stormers on skank destroyed everything else on the record market. closely followed by wah wah.

Best tune / release of 2004?

    Hydraulix 24

    Best remix of 2004?

SUFR29 Dirty Dancing Remix - Ant

    Best DJ of 2004?

Easy... DAVE the Drummer closely followed by Aaron Liberator

DJ to watch out for in 2005?

    ME!

    Best PA of 2004?

    Er... ME!

    Possibly Antimatter too.

My years top ten most used records

    Havok 28 - Geezer
    Skank9 - Mr Burns
Smitten is Dead 1 **** Goa - Audio Pancake
    Hydraulix 24
    Swarfega - Chris Liberator
Murder was the bass - DK8
    Feel the Dirty - Ant
    Skankadelic 3/7 Mr Burns
Rocket to Hackney - Geezer (Wah Wah)
    Fearless - Truelove

Been a good year really. Seen some top acts up North. Very pleased Euphonic has stayed alive. Had some awesome nights at Headcharge (RIP). The last Skankadelic was great fun and I hope to hear more of that stuff. Really pleased with the response to the AcidTrash mixes and really surpised to find that acid techno is as much fun on the web as it is in clubs.

Been a bit disapponted at the rest of the hard dance scene as I like to vary what I use but have been forced to turn into a bit of an acid techno purist because nothing else hits the standard for me anymore.

One nagging doubt is that, much though I adore the works of Guy Mcaffer, I'm a little jaded with everyone jumping on that 909 preset bandwagon. Good arrows to Alex Calver for breaking the mold. It's good to have a standard platform/format we can put out ideas onto but there is more than one way to skin a cat!

Big ups to FAT collective for all their hard work and encouragement and good job to Spawn for filling the void left by the demise of Havok.

Slightly annoyed at henry for ****ing my hearing up for a fortnight after his NYE live PA. Doesn't stop me going to see him 5 times a year though. Still the master!

Well done to Getafix too for making something interesting and different.

Ah **** it. It's all splitting the hair mighty thin. If you're in the game of acid techno then you're brilliant by default. Doesn't matter if you're one of the biggies or not. Theres a standard to hit and loads of you hit it every time you touch the decks so who cares who's in fashion?

Lets hope 2005 sees a whole bunch of new different talent and lets hope pressing vinyl gets cheaper! We all benefit from that!

For me the true star of Acid Techno this year is Richie Freeway at Squatjuice.com for hosting mixes of all you lot. AcidTrash owes everything this year to SquatJuice's MP3 directory and BOA mix forum.
