    Default Home networking problem.......

Currently I access the Internet on one computer through a wireless connection the other computer connects directly to the modem/router. To date I have had no problems until I decided I wanted to share files between the computers. I’ve gone through a number of tutorials, setting up home network wizard, turning on file sharing etc…. but when ever I look in my network places it doesn’t see the other computer. I consider myself quite a proficient computer user but this is driving me mad!!!!!

SP2 has a built in firewall, try turning that off if you haven't already. Have you tried searching for the computer (start -> search -> computers) to locate it that way? otherwise try accessing the other comp. directly like this: start-> run

    \\192.168.0.1\c$

192.168.0.1 is the ip address of the remote computer and c$ is the default share...

you have to have a password enabled on the remote computer otherwise it will deny remote connections. use the password you have on the remote computer to login to it.
