not bad but lacks alot of bass, there is a bassline there but its quite thin and very low in the mix, kick is a bit loud and flat too

its only a new one tho so wud like to hear final version ;)

I really don't like the hats in here man.. they're way too ringy.. sound like the default fruity samples or something... kinda gives you ear fatigue real quick.

Sounds like it needs some direction tho... I quickly skipped through bits and each spot sounded the same as the last..

Give'r some spice man!! I like the wooshy type pattern in there.. just pop some more elements in. :)

Thanks for taking the time to listen to my track, I will try to work on all the points mentioned, I have learnt so much from this board. I have a couple of questions.

Do you use single notes or chords for your bass line, as this would fatten it up, or should i try to get a fatter sound from the synth in the first place?

You say that my high hats are ringing, do you think this is because i use delay, and a bit of reverb or is it the samples, I am also using a sample of the 707 ride, which also rings, what sort of frequency range should i be tying for with my eq. I am giving boost aroung 12 and 14K on the 808 hats, is this too high.

    thanks for any help.

For bass it depends on what you are going for... more notes == more energy in most cases, but it depends on exactly what pattern you are working with, and of course the bass tone.. I'd comment further but the bass isn't really coming through at all on these shitty speakers at work so I'm not sure at all whats there. heh

As far as the hats/cymbals... gotta start with the right samples first.. if you do infact want to keep the ringy samples, then ya I'd eq it completely different... try around 8k or so for makin stuff cut through but not burn your ears out.

12k+ is useful for opening the top end to make it feel as if the track is not being played played through a tin can and such.

Hope that helps you a bit.. :)

u could try and eq the kix to kick in a higher region, they are a little to bassy i'd say.

try putting a nice bassline underneath the kick, that should change it a great deal,

for the hats, just try some different samples if you're not happy with them.

    try these hat packs:
