    Default ideal synth for pads?

    hey guys

anyone know of any good synths (both hardware and software) for nice pads that may add an element of emotion to my techno tracks?

I know at the end of the day its how i tweak the instrument, but im under the assumption that some synths are catered more towards a distinct sound than the other (SH101 for basses, etc etc).

    any suggestions?

    thanks

Well, I use a Juno 106 for Pads, not sure about any of the newer hardware.

Software, there is a lot of choice.

Superwave is great for Pads, pity about it's not too stable..

Synth1 is pretty good for them too as is the DSP Discovery. :)

i use the nord modular for pads (among other things).

i'm told that the waldorf microwave is good for pads, but haven't played with one myself.

for pads the greatest hardware synth must be the waldorf microwave 2 (or the xt/xtk)

it has wavetable synthesis wich can make eteral pads morphing forever

    it's also great for bass

Atnosphere, Absynth & Reaktor never seem to go wrong!

between the 3 of those you're bound to find something you can use!!
