Well, well well as Roots Manuva once spoke, not only do we have Speedy J
coming back to play Electric City on Thursday December 30th, he will be
doing a very special exclusive two-part performance for us. First up from 12
to 1 will be a minimal, experimental electronic [the Planet Mu, Warp, Fax,
Speedy J ] set while following a break for an hour he will return to rock
the dancefloor like a bulldozer from 2 to 3 [the Novamute, Plus 8, Music Man
Speedy J]. Speedy J is one of our all-time favourite techno artists and his
music has been among the most influential in the techno canon.

Speedy J's live set is known to be perhaps the ultimate live techno show in
the world today. His unparalleled track record as a producer stretches back
over ten years on labels such as Warp, Plus 8, Music Man, Planet Mu,
Eevolute, R&S, Fax all the way to his current home on Novamute. His most
recent appearance at the club back on our birthday night was a highlight of
the year for us. The occasions in any given year when Speedy J plays a club
the size of the Metropolitan can be counted on one hand and it's a testament
to the amazing reception from the Electric City crowd back in March that he
is returning for this very special two-parter!

Performing the DJ duties on the night will be two of the best DJs in
Ireland, Ross Carew & Niall Power. Ross is a member of the enigmatically
sporadic Full Stop crew and has played Electric City on many occasions
including warming up for Magda [M-Nus]. Niall Power is our bubble man and
long-time techno and electro champion in the sunny South East of Waterford
where his high caliber Electric Circus nights have brought such wicked
guests as Transparent Sound, Mike Grant, Donnacha Costello, Larry McCormick
to the city. These two special guests will rock the club for the hours of
11-12 and 1-2.

We hope to see you all there to celebrate the Eve of New Years Eve at
Electric City. Tickets for this party are available exclusively from
Selectah Records on Crow St. in Temple Bar - it is recommended that you get
a ticket as interest is massive. His last appearance left people outside on
the street so you better bring gloves and a scarf if you don't bring a
ticket!
