If you had a piece of gear or program that you would want to be considered an authority on. What would it be?
Mine would be the MPC-2000xl. (im not saying im the best at it, but i love it).

Probably the MC-303... It's quite limited as we all know but for a while it was my only sequencer so I had to learn to push it to the limit.

Yeah... its not so huge in the beats area though... so it would actually complement the MPC quite well ;)
The synth engines are sick
i been wondering about a table top synth to get. the core of my studio is an mpc-2000xl and an s-2000. no real synths. . .Originally Posted by xfive

I guess my weapon of choice is FL studio, Logic and Acid pro as far as production is concerned. I used to do a live PA though with all 4 Korg Elektribes though. That always worked out pretty well for me.
nord modular.
i have by no means mastered it. i'm not sure that's even possible, given the nearly infinite possibilities it presents.
I'd definetly say a Nord Micro Modular or a used Evolver.Originally Posted by Internal Error Records

The trick is to assign shit to the front panel knobs and "play" the modular :D
Yep... it's still the backbone of mine too...Originally Posted by perpetual

my buddy has a nord micromodular. i love the theory behind it but i just cant make it sound good. (and i am an experienced vst designer)
plus the nord micromodular computer program doesnt seem windows xp compatable.

I hear ya. I had a micromodular for nearly 2 years before I got the modular rack and only really used it as an audio processor (still do). Only after playing with the full modular rack for a few weeks I realised how completely rad it was. I've patched it up with proper analogue filters on the extra outs and delay + reverb for all outputs and now it's a proper modular hybrid :D. Something so simple can really change the useability of this box because it has a pretty dry sound on its own.Originally Posted by Internal Error Records
