    never realy thought about it,

i guess its just the different sort sounds you get with each different tune, and the hard kicks and bass give of so much energy, the breakdowns are not always euphoric but very enerjetic and when the ebat kicks in theres just so much power in the tune that it just makes you move. when djing it most people tend to like it where i play and seeing everyone go off on one to hardstyle is a merry site

anthem styled juno synths and loud pounding basslines..
    that's about it

i'm not too keen on the italian industrially sounding tunes

The general drive and savageness off some tracks is un real!

I know some people whinge about hearing that same "rong rong rong rong" bassline, but in alot of tunes it realy fits well.

Also the production that goes into it esp the Dutch is unreal and ya know lots of work has gone into the track.

Love the Hip Hop vocals chucked in there now and again and this adds something to a track and also fits like a custom made glove at some point.

The reaction the sound can get when you're out is amazing just waiting on edge for the bassline to come back in or the dark synth or filtered kick rushing round the speakers.

The pure hardness of it as well, in some places ya can feel beating you good and makes it presence known very well!

Obviously like any genre there's a few bad apples which ya can please everyone and so be it.

Hardstyle- I ****ing love it!

its all about the kick and the bass

(it helps if its not the same kick and bass used in every tune but...) ;)

stuff now a days that gets signed that the first bit thats the same !

same kick , same bass !

best thing about hardstyle is when it gets switched off !

its how you structure it like some amazingly talented dj's do , mentioning no names but you know who you are !

hardstyle simply played on a house system or in a studio makes me sick , and angry , same as hard house !

but played on a big rig by someone with more thought and energy than the actual person who SAMPLED OTHER PEOPLES TRAKS and made it in the first place it is a awesome sound

For me i would say a strong bassline and kick, its got to keep you gripped and be original, I like big trancey riffs on hardstyle like tuneboy-dirty and tommy pulse-land of lost.

Its deffinately the drive for me!! I love strong kicks & strong baselines! And dark/nasty riffs. The horribleness of hardstyle is what gives it that drive IMO. And thats why I like it. :)

gotta be the way it all kicks back in, the harder the better!!
a nice deep disturbing eirie synth line, one thats makes you a little bit scared of whats gwaning around you, gives you that shudder up your spine :)
or a pattern of noises that while predictable, has got that little something which makes you think "warp! how dey do that?"
