    The Hahaha CS01

"Ok, as stated before this one is really only for

    a) obsessive/compulsive vintage hardware synth buffs, and

    b) those of us who were there (ca 1982-1985).

Get your absolutely free copy here. The zip file contains both synth versions, small user guide in PDF format, default MIDI controller chart, etc.: "

BaziiD is a little synth in Vsti format and based on FM synthesis.

It's some kind of Bassline synth with 3 Bass level.

It use 3 FM generator, the first for the High, the next for the Medium and the last for the Bass and Sub-Bass.

SimplAE is a 4 drumsynth based on FM synthesis.

You can create and modulate each drum sound, change their duration, harmony, frequence and get some very cool and strange sounds.

    PC version:

    OSX version:

    A classic:

    Shiny FX Spectral Monkeyage

Spectral Monkeyage by Shiny FX is an original freeware VST plug-in for Windows, Mac OS and Mac OS X, and should appeal to the more fearless and experimental sound designers out there. As its name (sort of) suggests, this plug-in specialises in a kind of spectral or 'frequency domain' signal processing, and can be used to create a range of bizarre pitch-transformation effects, all in real time.

There are six main parameters. The Spectral Dynamics slider is first, alongside which sit knobs labelled High Gain and Low Gain. Used together, these allow some control over the extent to which different frequencies in the input signal contribute to the processed end result. Spectral Blurring does more or less what its name suggests, seeming to soften any rough edges in the sound. Moving the slider to its maximum setting activates the Freeze button (and vice versa), resulting in what sounds like an odd kind of 'infinite timestretch' effect. Very unusual. The Pitch Scaling slider allows you to raise or lower the perceived pitch of the sound by quite drastic amounts. This is not a natural-sounding process by any means, and Spectral Monkeyage is no substitute for Auto-Tune if accurate, transparent pitch correction is what you're after!

A drop-down menu allows you to incrementally adjust the FFT size of the processing 'window', with a range of 256 to 8192 samples. Bigger numbers seem to result in cleaner results, but also increase the load on your computer considerably. Newer machines will probably cope well with the higher settings, but my old G3 was struggling with much above 512.

Finally, there are menus allowing you to change the Oversampling rate (a range of 1x to 8x is available) and choose between four different kinds of processing 'window' (Hann, Hamm, Blackman and Bartlett). The first three window types seem to produce subtly different variations on the same effect, while the Bartlett setting tends to be startlingly, shatteringly noisy. Spectral Monkeyage is not a plug-in you'll use every day, but if you're stuck for an unexpected, attention-grabbing sound to really draw your listeners in, this could be just the tool to make it with. Transcender 2

Transcender 2 features a large bank of 10 oscillators, with a single slider to mathematically detune the oscillators by different amounts for a rich fat sound, then each oscillator is panned in stereo through twin low pass filters, the filters are slightly detuned for extra bite. Transcender is ideal for trance leads but is capable of a wide range of rich sounds.

    DVS Guitar

DVS Guitar is based on a sampled guitar and includes Overdrive, Reverb and Flanging. It's good for leads and heavy sounds, and very realistic if your good with a pitch wheel controller.

    Nanotron

Nanotron is a recreation of the Mellotron that I owned through the 80's, the voices were recorded on a Studer A80 in 1979, In 2004 I set about cleaning up the recordings, correcting pitch errors and creating the plugin.

    The three voice tracks are

    A: Male/Female Choir

    B: String Section

    C: Flute

This is quite a large download (16.9MB), this is due to the long samples required for an authentic sound

    Dream Sequencer

Dream Sequencer is for Producing those simple deep bass sequences of the 70's as produced by Tangerine Dream etc. The VSTi synchronizes with the host bpm and takes its root key from a "midi note" and plays for the duration from "note on" until "note off".

    FEARkILLER X2

FEARkILLER X2 is a complete reworking of the original and features loads of nasty stuff to make the growliest sounds ever. As well as using the original's FM oscillator, FEARkILLER X2 adds a sub-oscillator with Hard Sync for even greater sonic mayhem. With two LFO and a huge Mod Matrix, this synth offers more than anything than any killer that has gone before it. As prook, here is a second bank of presets provided by Moe Shinola - FEARkILLER X2 Bank.

    ROM-500

    OVERVIEW

R0M-500 results from my work as electronic musician & dj, impassioned with music & sampling.
Basiaclly it is a little SF2 player (Soundfont) with a few synth functionalities.
I've made this plug-in only to boost my creativity while I use my own loops.

R0M-500 is a VSTi plug-in unit made with Synthedit.
The structure of the plug-in was designed to reconcile easy of use and hi-quality audio processing.

The interesting thing about R0M-500 is that it uses MIDI files (included library) to play SF2 loops, in a similar way as REX files, so it can support some tempo variations.
Of course it's not as accurate as REX format (no pitch shifting implemented yet) but it let you create totaly new loops from the original.

R0M-500 SPECIFICATIONS Top of the page

    • Multiple instances VST Instument
    • 170 Mb SF2 with various loops (169 Loops @ 96 to 160 BPM)
    • 169 MIDI files
    • 2 ADSR Env for Filter and Amp stages
    • 1 Moog type Lo-pass filter, with adjustable Cutoff and Resonance
    • Master gain adjustment
    • Warm function for boost and distortion on signal
    • Automation of parameters
    • No latency
    • Intuitive GUI
    • You can load your own soundfonts

    RandomBeatLooper & Effector

Loop the source randomly, more or less often, but syncronised to tempo. And add some fxs (reverb, bitcrush & filter) by the same way. The loop reading can also be in rewind mode (ever or randomly).
    "RandomBeatEffector"
Same thing, but without the looper effect, with 2 fxs more, flanger and realtime pitchshifter.

    pulse sync series

The princip of this plugs series is to detect sound peak and at this moment change randomly the value of fx parameters (filter, pan, ring or bitcrusch).
"multi series":Some kind of delays and fliters, can make abstract things, just test it.
