    2RuleFilter

“2RuleFilter” is a self-resonant moog type filter that allows the filter cut-off frequency to be controlled manually, or by LFO, or by an envelope follower. It has a interresting feature called “scrambler” that plays filtered signal randomly depending on the selected beat. The “mix” knob mixies wet and dry signals, The “volume” knob is for setting the output volume level. The”Bit crusher” produces hard sound. Using its scramble feature you can maintain the rhythmic, choppy, buffered and tempo sync output.

    Feature:
    * High Pass, Low Pass, Band Pass filter
    * Modulation of filter cut-off frequency by LFO (tempo-sync), manuallly or envelope follower(reversable)
    * Bit crusher (16bit to 1 bit)
    * Scrambler that devide one measure to different time intervall and plays beats randomly.
    * Mix ballance in between dry(input signal) and wet(filtered and bit crushed).
    * Sensitivity that allows the filter cut-off frequency be changed from roughly to smoothly. This effect is the same of parameter smoothing.

    Control:

Frequency - Cut-off depending on filter type. This envelop can be used also with any type of modulation and creates relatif cutoff frequency.

    Q - Resonance

F Type - Fiter type Low Pass(LP), Band Pass (BP) and High Pass (HP).

Sens - Sensitivity : Parameter smoothing for Freq parameter.

Bit Crusher - Decimator from 1 bit to 16b bit (Distortion).

Modulation - It defines the type of Freq(Cutoff) modulation : Manual, LFO , Envelope filter (Auto Wah)

Env Eff - The amount of envelope modulation(Auto Wah)

Reverse - It takes the inverse of envelope modulation.

LFO Eff - The amount of LFO modulation.

    LFO Rate - LFO Rate

LFO Rate Mult - It multiplies the current LFO rate by 1 or 10 or 100.

Sync - It sync LFO rate with the current song tempo.

BEAT - It defines the fragment duration with will played randomly (Scrambler : 1/1 to 1/64)

SCRAMBLER - Can be set for wet(filtered) and dry (input) signal.

MIX - It defines the balance in between wet and dry signal.

    VOLUME -Volume

    Beta release

    Known Bugs :

Plugin is checked by Ableton and Cubase SX . But while playing a wav file in a Cubase SX, changing patches of 2RuleFilter can generate nasty sounds so keep the volum s low when changing patches.

!!WARNING!! 2RuleFilter is capable of nasty loudness if you push the settings hard, keep volumes low while you play with the controls

Welcome to the KVR Developer Challenge 2007, the second free-for-all audio plug-in / audio application design event! Building on the success of last years event, KVRDC07 is bigger and better!

The final date for submissions has passed and download day is upon us! All entries can be downloaded below, NOW! Voting will commence from 17th September so you've got at least a week to play with the new toys to see which ones you love the most.

There are 41 entries. We had a strong Windows turnout again (40) but, sadly, a very low number for Mac (3) and Linux (1)... 37 of them are in the ubiquitous VST format, 2 Audio Units made it through and there are 5 stand-alone applications too.

Oh yes, some great stuff in the developer challenge, my favorite so far are ArcDev's Ellipsis, Grapheed & the Psychic Modulation one, but i haven't tried all of them yet...

    ...and back to business:

Ultra Trigger Performer 1.00 - VST - MetaPlouc

UTP vst is more or less the same thing as UTP for reaktor 5,except that it's "a true VST effect" coded in delphi.

    Main caracteristics:

    *a set of 6FXs(synceddelay,spinscratch,flanger,phaser,decima tor,Real time slicer).
*System of FX triggering (FX selector,FX trigger and FX synced value)
*A double multi waveform lfo (2synced phase),synced to the host and shared to the effects which need it (spin/phaser/flanger).
*Internal midi learn/forget system with automatic backup of values between two cessions.
*Internal midi feedback system (automated controls are sending midi back to the host...).
    *Supports any sampling rate.
*Total stereo processing (each mono channel has its own fx processor)
    *Distributed as freeware.

What is needed ? A vst host, some drumloops, some midi buttons (14 for triggering all the interface buttons).

    get it @RS:

good tip, bmovie. That one caught my attention. I have only tried 'shakermaker' so far. Which is rather cool. As said before - i love this competition. This time it's a helluva lot of stuff to try, almost to much..

This plugin is superb for creating/enhancing REAL punch from/in samples. Best transient enhancer i know.

"Okay I've redone my old Transient Shaper plug-in. Facts:

    Controls:
    Attack: -200% to 200%
    Sustain: -200% to 200%
    Smoothness: 0% to 100%
    Out Volume: -20dB to 0dB

It works by the same principle as the SPL transient shaper (note it is NOT modeled after it nor otherwise related).

    No GUI, VST 2.3, C++

Any comments, feedback, suggestions, reports, whatsoever welcome."

    This is awesome:

manic is an 8 slot random sample player where you decide the samples, but manic decides when to play them. Samples are triggered according to their probability, on a tempo sync pattern. Also allows for randomising of volume, pitch, pan, delay, reverse and swing. You decide how much, but not when. You can loop the sequence, change sequence seed with midi keys and quantise the pitch randomising for a more melodic sequence. Works well for random glitchy percussion, instant melodic sequences of multisamples or total chaos

    - 8 sample slots, supports 16 & 24 bit mono & stereo wavs
    - each sample played randomly according to it's probability
    - tempo sync hit rate (hits/beat)
    - seeded randomising for repeatable sequences
    - midi playable seeding, change sequence with a midi key press
    - random sequences can be looped for repeatability
    - randomised swing
    - per sample volume, pan & pitch
    - per sample randomising of volume, pan, pitch and reverse
    - per sample pitch quantising to semitone/cent
    - per sample routing to randomised delay
    - play / stop / resync controls
    - midi CC and midi learn
    - 246 samples and 25 presets covering acoustic & electronic drums, glitch and 8 bit noises, synth bass and keys

Download full version (12.5 MB - this contains the plugin, 25 presets and 246 samples):

    http://www.delamancha.co.uk/plugins/manic.rar

Download lite version (1.1 MB - this contains the same plugin, but only 1 preset and 8 samples):

    http://www.delamancha.co.uk/plugins/manic_lite.rar

Please consider making a donation towards the hosting costs if you do download and like this plugin, as 12MB is not much to download, but hits my bandwidth hard when several thousand people download it every month.

basic64 is inspired by the 8 bit sounds of the classic Commodore 64.
It's not a straight emulation, but is based around the SID chip with some extras for that 8-bit retro game sound, lofi gritty noises or just plain oddness

    features
    - 16, 8 or 6 bit sound quality
    - 3 oscs, each with their own ADSR envelope
    - oscillators can be sync'd and ring modulated by each other
    - pitch envelope modulation
    - pitch wobble option, for subtle instability
    - 2 tempo-sync LFO's to modulate pitch, cut-off and pulse width
    - LFO's have attack/release curves
    - tempo-sync arpegiator
    - flexible routing to state variable filter (LP, HP & BP)
    - envelopes can be reset or continuous at retrigger
    - monophonic or polyphonic option
    - midi learn / midi CC support
    - 128 presets by sinkmusic & WhiskeyPriest

X-ISM is a state of the art VST/AU plug-in which can interpret inter-sample peaks, allowing engineers to make informed judgements about the resultant sound quality of the mix.

There is currently a trend in the in the audio industry known euphemistically as ‘The loudness war’ in which the engineering process is driven to produce a product which is as loud as is technically possible within the constraints of the medium. Debate rages as to whether this produces problems that degrade and distort the audio. One reason for this distortion is often blamed on the presence of ‘inter-sample peaks’, where signals that are usually missed by the Fs sampling of DAW meters, may actually exceed 0dBfs in reconstruction from digital to analogue domain in some Digital to Analogue Converters (DACs).

    Shortcircuit for free!

Xmas is early this year. shortcircuit and shortcircuit2 are both available as a free download.

The sampler that started it all. While the competition were busy chasing marketing-checkboxes with 96kHz and multi-gigabyte libraries, shortcircuit delivered high-quality resampling, an innovative selection of filters/effects and an interface tuned towards creative sample mangling.

    Now freeware!
