Very nice limiter/compressor/squasher. Does wicked things to drums. Can be used on a per track basis, as latency=0. /loopdon

    other opinions:

"holy crap this new compressor pumps! it's probably the *least* subtle dynamics tool I've ever used. I'm sure it handles transparency with grace but this pump is unique and just too damn useful. I stuck a random live drum bus in there and out comes massive attack tear drop! twiddled for 5 more minutes and I know it's there to stay in the tool box. damn good sound! not too many of these *usable* super squashers around. keFIR

"keFIR" is a VST, zero latency, mono FIR filter based on impulse responses loaded from wave files. Filter length can be adjusted to maximum of 8K taps.
It has a "mix" knob for mixing input with output, "gain" knob for setting output volume level, "length" knob for setting filter length (you can also set the length by clicking right mouse button on impulse response). Adjusting filter length will linearly affect CPU usage, more taps used require more CPU power. User can optimize it by choosing proper filter length, for example some amp cabinet impulse responses have long tail of 'almost zero' coefficients which can be shortened without audible difference, to save some extra CPU cycles.
The plug requires at least Pentium 3 (it's highly optimized with SSE code) and Windows OS.
    Installation
On WinXP and later you just need to uncompress dll's into your vst folder. On Windows versions prior to XP, you have to install Gdi+ library from microsoft, it's here.
It also uses great I/O library - Libsndfile (included in keFIR download package).
    License
"keFIR" (VST plugin) is free (donate if you like it) for usage in music applications, I forbid it's sale, modifications or sharing it over internet without consulting this with me, the author. I give no guarantee of proper work of this software and I take no responsibility of unwanted results of this software.
