    Default sampling hierarchy

    does anyone understand this? could anyone explain it for me? struggling to find resources on the net

    samples, keygroups, keyspanning, presets/programs etc

    Depends on the sampler. You want the samplers manual I think.

    no its for a project on sampling...i eman a general overview of the hierarchy for samplers

    Then you probably want more than one sampler manual.

    Suspect you can download manuals for most of the hardware ones.

    Usually there's a sample or multiple ones attached to some kind of program that organises them across the keyboard then some kind of master patch that organises a load of programs.

    theres two types ? polyphonic & phrase innit ?

    'phrase' plays back just the audio with maybe an affect. but only as a single hit..

    'polyphonic' place the sample over several octaves & can play the sample at varying pitch..

    if thats wildly inaccurate, somebody tell me now
