    Default FTP troubles

i use my free webspace to host short samples of some of my tunes as do alot of people on here, but the other day when i tried to upload my latest offering, it said permission denied and the help contents suggest that i may have to ring up my internet service provider and ask them to reset my permissions???!!

has anyone here come across this before and does anyone know wot causes the problem? got a wikid hard techno track waiting to show

Check what directory you are uploading into. Strange if the permissions have changed, you have to do that deliberately, but they might have a broken script or something.

What FTPclient are you using? If you use WSFtp of CuteFTP, you should right click on the directory you want to upload to and change the permissions to 755 (chMod to 755) - probly makes no sense to you, but if you right click on the directory, permissions or CHMod should be mentioned somewhere and that's what you need to change.
