With 2 or 3 people collaborating you can get a nice dynamic, sometimes, with the right combination of personalities.
But loads of people making one track?
It would end up getting homogenised.

Although maybe putting together a double ep or a CD compilation would be a good idea.
But seeing as the Blackout Audio name is marks, then really it would be something he would have to be cool with.

However, a CD compilation of the best of BOA, might be cool.

i think a CD compilation wud be better than the proposed ep because it allows for more of the talent to be displayed and im guessing wud be alot cheaper
    upcoming releases : Templ8r 1, Advanced 025, Humanoid 7, Emetic 013 - www.djscottgray.co.uk

and you could always pick 4 tracks from the CD and use them for an EP if you wished so at a later date. If it was to go ahead it should be made as diverse as possible from acid-techno to wankey noodlings.

well as you can see from a post on the production section, i'm really wanting ppl to send me tracks for a new blackout audio release. i think it would be just superb to get forum members involved in a release, perhaps get some remixes of their work done by well known artists.

as for a cd, well that's something i've never tried. i don't really know the cd market well enough at the mo tbh. but i think the best thing for blackout would be to release a few serious artists albums on cd before we did something like this, sort of build up a trust within buyers and then hit them with some more unknown artists (exactly what we did with the 12inches on blackout actually).

anyway, get these links to me ppl!!! i really want to release a forum members EP or series of EP's with remixes, with varied styles of techno. weird, hard, deep, detroit, chicago, whatever. quality is the name of the game here ;)

Dude, I`m in London, we really should meet up, if only for a beer, and so we we can both go, "ohhhh it`s you!!"
If not, then I`d be willing to swap files with ya.

Perhaps a mix CD featuring only tracks by people from the board?

I know I'd be more than happy to have one of my tunes floating about on something like that.
