the first one came out just over a year ago, this is a new version of it released a year later. he's done loads of otehr little mixes but they are damn hard to find. he's done 3 kraftwerk mixups and a seasame st mix, u have to check out the solid steel archives to find them.

this week i shall mostly be listening to paul simon's graceland

Check out Ash Ra and related stuff by Manuel Gottsching and Cosmic Jokers. If you like Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians (sampled bt the Orb on Little Fluffy Clouds fact fans) you will probably be in to some of this. http://www.ashra.com/

have any of you guys heard of jazcafe?

i have an album i can put up more details next week..

    its kind'a.. weird..

flute based leads with classical chords, drum & bass, funk, minimal electric style - just builds & builds - a comprehensive listen leaves you thinking - woooo - where did that start from again - mad!

henryck gorecki - symphony #3 (symphony of sorrow)

"modern" classical that always reminds me of plastikman's "consumed" because of the way it builds and builds without you ever realizing what's happening. sneaks up on you. love it.

on the headphones today: Anouar Brahem - Le Pas du Chat Noir

Anouar is known for being an Oud player. the music for this album was written on the piano however, and ended up being primarily a piano album, with the Oud as backing instrument. beautiful stuff.

    also:
    Coil - Black Antlers (http://thresholdhouse.greedbag.com/)
The Bravery - The Bravery (http://www.thebravery.com or iTunes) -- modern retro new synth wave misc pop. something fun about it. shoot me.
    Meshuggah - I -- 21 minutes of madness

and whoever called Philip Glass dull - go listen to The Hours.
