i played on this the other week, and i've got to say it sucked donkey balls. my friends work in high end pro-audio shops buying and selling PA for big parts of their time. they asked around their contacts and no one they deal with who has worked in PA for most of their life, has ever heard of funktion one sound systems. the monitoring is set up really badly so as to cause a minor phase cancellation making mixing more difficult than normal. and the engineer HATES TECHNO, and loves breaks. so we had a really muddy bottom end (oo-er!) and peircing high end all night and it sounded whack. it only got turned up from about 1am, and for most of the night the stage monitors where louder.

funktion one, dont believe the hype!

    have fun tho ;)
I dont know. You give people freedom and what do the do with it?

I bet they have heard of turbosound, same person who made some of thier best systems co owns funktion 1. (Or close to that)
I can't belive they have not heard of funktion 1, they clearly don't go to many new product shows like plasa. Is a newish company but have done stage at Glastonbry and many other events.
    One of the market leaders.

Well I wouldn't have done if you'd asked me. Just make sure it is eq'd right, there is a problem with the monitor speakers dispite what the Sound engineer will tell you. everyone I have heard on that rig has had problems even Derrick may. There is no kick in the main speakers just pure rumble as Tony mentioned.

    yeah, scuse my cynicism.
i go through bouts of scathing erudite criticism sometimes, dont we all.

i recant my former opinions on the status of the sound system, some of the guys have now gone 'oh that make of rig, blahblah'. but in truth the med bar rig does need some tweaking. there is definitely the phase delay on the monitors, and a sense of delaying rumble when frequencies die away. maybe its the room. but i'd have thought for such a kick ass expensive system that they would have tweaked and engineered it to pin drop capabilities.

the problems had really been noticed last time i spoke to folks, so maybe by tonight you'll have a prurring system to batter folks with :)

and no it wasnt my mixing  you cheeky so and so

excuse my rants, i am keeping that beast well tamed nowadays :)

Well it sounded fine to me. more than fine. It's not what you use, it's what you pump thru it.
