Default Recording Audio in Cubase Help

It seems everytime I record an audio file into cubase I'm getting some bit of crackle or noise in the recording. I've been trying to mess around with the settings but can't seem to sort it out.

    My setup:

Creamware Luna II soundcard running SCOPE platform Version 4.0
    Cubase SX 2.2.0 Build 33
    Soundcraft Spirit M8

I'm going from my Soundcraft Digital Out to my soundcard S/PDIF In and from there into Cubase.

I've tried messing with the latency settings on my soundcard as well as the settings in Cubase to no avail. Any reccomendations on how I can avoid the little clicks and pops that keep cropping up in my recordings?

How do I change the buffer size?

I ran the test but it only tests the ASIO Multimedia device, not the ASIO Scope, which i have to select if I want to use the Ditial Input on my soundcard.
