Has anyone seen this album, its his new mixed album.

How minimal do ppl like there trance???

I like it to the point off chillingness. In other words it would put ACDC on a etx mission to sleep.

Dont get me wrong i like it, it gets going in time with some nice vocal items,

But jesus christ this guy is supposed to be the best dj in the world and this is his first album since his crowing as world best and he provides us with this.!!!

Seriously has to one for the chill out area of trance because if you here samples from it you will agree with me that its one of the most minimal and progressive trance mixes i have ever heard.
The mixing is seamless but the tracks are just boring.

Someone please give me an explaination for world class djs like this making uninteresting mixes?

His production is spot on though, he makes great remixes of tracks like flesh and makes his own tracks like in my memory. They are storming. But whats with this cd?
I asked you guys cause you can give me the best possible view on it from the outside of his scene. You are the most crytical bunch i have met, but thats good. Very good.

Someone explain what this guy is playing at?

Ive got one of this double Mix CD's called Revolution, i always used to like the older stuff he played and i thought it would be good, but i dont like it at all its borin and has no real upliftingness to it :( i know wat u mean cascade

yea, the best word i can use to describe the album is:
minimal,

simple and boring, doesnt peak at anytime but doesnt drop of the scale.
just goes through with no atmosphere.
Does this happen to alot of djs who suddenly become number one?
I guess his style description in djmag was spott on, Progressive trance.
Prog all the way. the first few tracks are just beats all the way through, no synth or structure, just pure prog no change in the tracks, it was like a never ending intro.
i could go on for hours but i see what you guys think?

Imo tiesto is a good dj, i seen him a few times. Just cause he has made an album, a bit more relaxed doesnt give peeps the rite too jump down his throat.

I seen him about a year and a half ago, and he was playin some really hard stuff, Ie F..... then the last time he was a bit more laid back. Makes no odds too me tbh.
There isnt any shite music on his cd, which a lot of peeps seem to have missed out on already.

Just tryin something a bit different maybe???

What would be the point in being a dj, if you had to stick to whatever style the uk press had pigeonholed u into...

He plays a lot of gigs, and to go for the most appeal he probs feels he has too vary it.

I liked it better when he used to play decent sounding tunes like Lange - I Believe, i love that track.

Seen him play out a couple of times, and I certainly wouldn't say he was poo. I'm not a trance man really, but I find I can listen to his sets more than say, Armin van Buuren.

I seen tiesto play about 2 years ago and his mixing is top notch, but his tune selection was not so good.

imo no music in the world is shit (apart from that wierd comtempary shit), but people dont like some music genres as much as others.
When i started this thread i should have said that i actually love tiesto and i bought the album only cause it had his name on it.
But i wanted some info on why hes gone a bit minimal.
all the records paul nisbet has just pointed out are quality tracks and flesh is one of my best tracks of all time but you missed one paul mate....
