I can't understand dissing another record with an argument like "its sells more than mine".. come on..

believe in your stuff, follow your ideas, write more about good records you found, give tips to the people where to look for it..

instead of labels contacting me for promotion and reviews through radio and internet, in 70% cases is really the opposite.. ah, nevermind..

Speaking of music....I need to go record shopping this weekend....anyone have any good recommendations? Any must haves on your list?

I did manage to pick up a doublepack on the Pornographic label last week that I really liked....and some other record on Ascend Recordings.....but anything else I should know about? It's been a while and I need some new tunes ;)

I think it's funny as hell. All the shit talking about schranz has helped establish it's credibility. I would most likely have no way of telling you if I was hearing a schranz track. But, because of all the shit talking about how bad it sucks, I know some artist names and labels affiliated with it which is more that can be said for others. No publicity is bad publicity. ;)

whats up with the schranz dissing anyway? a year ago people here were all raving about wittekinds releases. now suddenly everyone and their dog start dissing him, because some shmuck said it would be cool to diss schranz. wittekind isn't even schranz. in germany, schranz is used for liebing's sound. wittekind, natus, etc are referred to as "hardtechno"

Whatever you call it, that pumped and overcompressed sound was very limited to start with, and isn`t really going anywhere fast.

    there's no smoke without fire

no one said it was cool to diss schranz, its getting dissed because of the seemingly never ending glut of bad releases... people were raving about Sven at first yes, but he's taken the same formula, as have others by the way, and repeated it over and over until one day someone actually clicked and thought "hang on, this all sounds very similiar and doesnt have the same appeal anymore"

its whats known as shelf-life, and its what should drive each artist to keep evolving their sound and keeping things fresh

i love hearing hard fast techno in a club. in fact i go ape shit to it. i wouldnt buy it for home listening tho. i find the music serves its purpose on the dancefloor -and if u want memory implants - u can re-listen at home

i watched a video of amok playing at u60311 it looked ****ing mental - like being in the pit at orbit again.

to me techno is mainly about that tribal dance thing, its my ultimate choice for dancing like a prat to hard grooves and getting lost in the midst of it all. i havent got a problem with any sub-genre of techno

btw if anyone has seen modulations film, juan atkins says something like "house, techno, electro, garage....it's all just dance music"

I dunno. I figure it's the same as every other popularity contest where someone gets jealous of the fact that someone else appears attractive in their backyard and is stealing their attention.

BTW, this also gave me a heads up about "schranz" too. Apparently the group I'm with and yourself have worked on a track together. ;)

Granted, I didn't like that one. Everytime I hear that vocal, I want to throw up.
But even if he released a bad track.... c'mon! There is no denying that his releases on Overdrive or his Headnut EP will work a crowd into a frenzy like few other tracks ever could. I've seen rooms with thousands of people scream in unison the moment the bass of those records hit them.

Wittekind has proven himself as a producer and he is without doubt a great dj. Dissing him for one track seems a little silly to me.

hmmm. Its funny its not like Amok & Wittekind ever copied anybody. Amok sound like that years ago and got noticed ( i think) because well he sound like himself and no-one else.

Its the imitators that are probably the probablyem. :e Same with the Beyer & Surgeon clones (not putting all in the same bracket, just generalizing and thinking real real deep here)

but its not the imitators putting out below par stuff, its the "innovators" if u will of this respective scene... sure Sven's headnut ep rocks, but does that make up for the ooo i dunno, 10 or so eps after it that have sounded pretty much the same? no it doesnt... a good producer keeps on proving themselves and doesnt rest on the laurels of one popular ep

there's really no debating that schranz or hard techno needs to step things up a gear and i fail to see how anyone, even those involved in that scene, can see otherwise!

u mentioned Headnut ep, well compare it to Tool Terror 1 and that should show the difference surely
