My untermensch server provider has stopped me from sharing mp3 files on my server...
So what I wonder is if anyone wants to host some mixes/PAs of mine.. I got a handful of them that yet not reached the public mass.
Let me know.

Well zipping is not an option, they will unzip it and see what is there. The problem is some kind of copyright bullshit they are trying to pull which is complete nonsense since I ofcourse have the copyrights of my own material.![]()
Regarding traffic.. I am afraid it could be quite high. Once I had a 90mb mp3 downloaded 26.000 times in 2 months. But I suppose on average 2.000 times a month.

why not switch your servers.
your going to have to take all your stuff off and upload it elsewhere anyway.
try these if your intersested. Im thinking of moving my site ther as im almost reaching my 150gb bandwith limit on my host just now. with these folks you get a great deal.

Well I have three different providers and they all keep ing up about the same things. I guess they are ed because the traffic is too high (even though it is not up to their set limit).

try ACE-HOST.NET ... I have an account there, 2000 mb space, 80 gb traffic a month... going great, not too expensive.Originally Posted by Buttman

Nice one Florence! I was on the look-out for more Web space... just got 5GB & 50GB b/w for €111 (3 years). Offer ends at 6am GMT for any of you nocturnal types.Originally Posted by Florence
wouldn't there be a way to protect liveacts under a creative commons license? then you can, as they say "Upload and host your music for free at the Internet Archive via ccPublisher"
for instance, Attribution Non-commercial No Derivatives

"This license is the most restrictive of our six main licenses, allowing redistribution. This license is often called the "free advertising" license because it allows others to download your works and share them with others as long as they mention you and link back to you, but they can't change them in any way or use them commercially.
or the Music Sharing License

now it's just an idea - i'm not good with juggling these copyright issues, but in the Live Music Archive for instance i have come across recordings of live performances from bands like GSYBE! and Explosions in the Sky to name but a few. many netlabels also use CC licensing (and free hosting) as well.
ok now i'll just shut it and wait for the number 22 to pop up![]()
temp: wow nice one, will look into it!!
