    Default Smells a bit off!

I've noticed that some people in this board have been supporting styles of techno that they make or in some way affiliated with. Let me tell you something champ, you're not fooling anyone

Ah do stop it, it's not a football league. It's music not a competition.

Nah, its not on! Thats not how music should work. Honest opinions are of value, not self-gain.

But at the end of the day, people aren't gonna stop the annoying habit of self promotion no matter what. Forget about the concept of competition, and just listen to the music. It's not like anyone actually buys music they don't like because spazmo46 on blowyourowntrumpet.com says it's an 'essential purchase'

You sound like you are affiliated with Kobayashi/Citizen etc half the time.

What a great idea - start up some league tables! Get a panel of independent pundits to give out points to people when they release something that 'moves the genre forward' and deduct points when they play a duff set somewhere or put out a Beatles schranz remix or something. You could have goal difference worked out based on the amount of positive and negative bollocks chatted about them on the internet, and the champions each year would win an MTV video, a front-page writeup in mixmag and the right to charge 5 grand per set.

    How about that then!

Not sure what your getting at here, but generally, blatant self promotion will get moved to the promotions section.
So if you have anything to point out to me, that I need to move, then please let me know.

Nah!! You truly don't know me. For years now, I've been supporting what I think is the best. The music I support is something that I have a real care for, and feel genuinely moved by. If it let 3 or 4 people discover what I have, then guilty ! I'm sure there is a lot of people here who do the same, but there is a quite few who are doing things for their own advantage.

Well, there really is no avoiding that, you have to stand by what you believe in. But I haven`t spotted any spamming or veiled promotion in here.

So, you're saying people shouldn't promote themselves?

Loop people to loop and a sub genre of techno artist to a sub genre of techno. Not saying all the loop or all the sub genre people do this but some do it shamelessly. Nothing wrong with little bit more honesty.
