    Default wireless networking confusion!

I wonder if any of you guys can help me with this..

ive got a wireless 802.11g network at home with a belkin router/modem running it. Its all good but ive now hit a problem in that i upgraded to 2mb broadband, but wireless doesnt go that fast :(

Ive got my old usb broadband modem still so is there any way i can plug that into my main office pooter to get 2mb on that and then run the wireless network on from that so the missus can use her laptop anywhere in the house - albeit at a lower speed to the office machine..

Any advice would be greatly apreciated! :)

this is what he's replied back with

Yes, he could plug the USB modem into his PC and share the connection to the laptop over wireless. But for that to work, he'd need a wireless NIC in the PC also. also, bear in mind that you will only be able to use the laptop when the other PC is switched on.

    I think your wrong m8

wireless 'b' is 11 mb/s - real world about 5 but well over the 2 of the broadband.

wireless g which yours is is 54 mb/s - real world 25 ish

So it shouldnt be limiting your speeds m8
