i gotta say, i'm much more inclined to think glenn knows what he's talking about here than you, seeing as how he has a history with adam and the other swedes at the very time in question, and you do not.

i do think that a lot of the drumcode (and other) records were designed in the same mold, and gor repetitive, but i seriously doubt they used the same loops.

but if you are confident enough that you are right, why not cite specific examples to people can judge for themselves?

i am pretty sure, deafmosaic is right there. i have heard certain loops esp. from say, nokick and techno trance essentials all over the place. i just started to look for those when i read a comment in another forum (usb schranz forum) by björn bommersheim (german producer) that one would have many a aha-moent when listening to both these sample-cds and the swedish sound of the drumcode era. and i can't find anythin wrong with that, back in the days not everybody had these cds. it's just now you can get them everywhere. i suppose, when they got something new then, they just gave it to their friends as well....er i mean they encouraged their fellow producers to buy these cds as well ;)

that's talking mainly about percussive loops wich surely made alot of that sound ....

i have tons of drumcode records...and what i hear is several similar types of songs, not necessarily the same loops. with that evidence, i am more inclined to believe glenn, who has insider knowledge, than take the word of a couple people who do not.

but again, like i said...put the links up, or cite specific records...if it's that obvious, i will change my tune on that one...though only as far as the drumcode goes.

besides, what is implied here is that the entire body of work by swedish producers of that era can be boiled down to a conga loop, and that's just not true. maybe that's where the pisstake comes in...hope so, cuz it's a pretty daft statement if meant seriously. in how many tracks did cari lekebusch use ANY tribal loops? cari was been one of the most innovative and different producers of the mid-to-late 1990s, and his stuff just ain't tribal at all. his sh*t from those days is lightyears more innovative than virtually anything in hard techno today.

and for adam, what conga loop did he use in his records on svek or loop or rotation from that era?

what about alexi delano or jasper dahlback, who were making techno records at the time? were they using this master loop? hard to argue that one...

Some of the Drumcode tracks are really immense, I mean DC 20.5 is still highly playable and I still lamnet the fact some thieving bastard nicked 09 and 10 from me at a party four years ago. Drumcode 04 is still worthy, Brakastate still hs that lovely crunchy hat ride and Petting Me has that funky bassline. ANd lets not forget that a certain First Act by Arkus P has one of the key sounds which sounds remarkably like something ripped right out of the A1 of DC 05.

It does piss me off these days that I have so much DC's, simply as I started butying them when I was well into them and didn't have decks rthinking that by the time I got decks I'd have good records, little taking into factor that my musical style would have changed to wonky shizzle so I now have so little stuff to play that gets me hot, but lots of stuff which might actually go well together if I could be bothered to play it.
