Here's 10 reasons why the swedes are very very important:
1.Sons and daughters of the rising (4xLP) -V/a..HP1201... standout dahlback, beyer, phiri and lekebusch tracks and an album of awesome scope covering every genre - Outstanding
2.Mr. James Barth 'stealin music', svek 2x12".. Awesome heavy dub techno...the best fusion of these two musics to this day
3.Ralph Lundstein 'Diskophrenia', svek 2x12" - Powerful electronic funk psychedelia (with remixes)
4.Vet dom som for att (cari lekebusch) HP1203 2x12" WOW - the breakbeat/electro tracks are pure heavy genius
5.Concieled project - pattern1-4 (Beyer) svek - Just blissful
6.Mr. james Barth & AD - Knockin boots vol.1 & 2, svek - Proper slick crunchy tunage with a little extra
7.DJ Lenk 'induction ep' Blank LTD001 - Wicked minimal bleepy Jack trak
8.Cari Lekebusch 'reverting' HProductions..undeniably...a TUNE
9.James Barth vs Steve Poindexter 'one side each' Trainspotters nightmare... Ruff as arseholes
10. a different strain of swedish music...everything by TSR
But have to say, lekebusch seems to have relaxed into a groove for the last few years and i'm not feeling it..but i know he's gonna drop the bomb before too long....he's still got it in him... Liked one of the made eye releases from beyer too... Thats the thing that gets me about the swedes, they're all capable of so much as has been proven in the past but they seem to have stopped experimenting for the moment (apart from maybe dahlback)...maybe they're biding they're time until they're current records stop selling then they're gonna get all 25th century on our asses!!
I hope so...
