    Default Techno promotion

How many of you promotors actually promote outside the techno scene? I've been flyering Goth and Metal nights for ages and talking to just about everyone I give a flyer to. Seems to work. It's the best way to keep new blood coming in and you're not preaching to the converted all the time.

In addition to promoting techno nights, I have also promoted D&B/Breaks/House/HipHop nights, local band nights, and open deck nights. As a result I usually give flyers to anyone who will take them. So I chat with all sorts, and have got all sorts of randoms to come out for the bangin. And I've been talked into going to all sorts of gigs that I wouldent otherwise have gone to as well. Its quite good to be involved in the local music scene, as opposed to just the local techno scene, you meet alot of cool people.
