    Default Stupid question

    I am trying to put some tracks onto my pc but when windows media player rips them on to my hard drive they end up as WMA files which i dont want to happen. I want them to stay as wavs! How is this possible??

    im not sure but doesnt it giv you the options of wot file to sav as ie wav mp3 etc.

    No. Windows media only rips to WMA - it also puts some form of SCMS on it - I spent ages trying to work out why stuff that media player had ripped would play on my PC but not my girlfriends MP3 player when we copied them from the PC.

    I just use soundforge.

    Not true. In Media Player 10, if you go to the "ripping" menu, you can choose what format you want to rip to.

    Alternatively, download CDex - powerful, yet easy to use, and above all free.

    correct - in media player tools->options->ripping and select mp3... still - it's better to use something like soundforge if you actually want decent quality or you wanna rip to wav or sumthin...
