I know I'm not exactly a persistent poster on here, so maybe folk can tell me to **** off and quit griping (see I even typed it for you, save you the bother).

But I've noticed recently that avatars have been getting bigger and bigger and signatures have turned into banners rudely announcing people's particular affilliation, crew, whatever...

now I don't know about anyone else, but it all looks a bit ****ing cheap and nasty if you ask me - ****s sakes we get bombarded with advertising and cheap media on the streets with having my screen polluted with every single post by a particular poster proudly banging their little drum with their tatty little animated gif and bad layered photoshop effort.

What was wrong with a simple html link - if we wanna check your shit, we'll check it, hopefully on the strength of the sense that people post about rather than these intrusive banner flickering in yer periphery vision all the time...

What you reckon Mr EG, I mean I reckon you should sort it out...

Yeah but avatars are cool, it adds a bit of personality - notice they're call 'avatars' not 'advertisers'. Switching them off misses the point.

I rather thought people associated with independent and underground music might have a bit more class - but fine - I can think of other forums where this is rampant and I'm sorry it just looks like the advertising sidings at some two-bit Vauxhall Conference football league ground.

I admit that some of the avatars can be a bit big but at the end of the day it's about the post by the indiviual and the contents of that post that the people are interested in. When I first joined this forum I enjoyed looking at some of the avatars but they pale into insignifincance now.
