    Default What to look for in a Spectrum Analyser

    im going to search on some past topics in a while but was just wondering what tips you ugly lot had for spectral analysis and how do you use it effectively

    totally niave to it all really so any help welcome

    Look for a flat level over all freqs except bass

    Make sure there is little or no level in the 20hz and below region

    just record in your fave track, ie one that really has great levels and is really nicely produced. then you'll see what a good track is suppposed to look like and you can use that as a sort of reference.

    A generally flat, slighty sloping line down from the low frequencies.(And Probably a bit wiggly)

    You should play your track thro is and look for an image of a small dog walking past a tree
