Check out DK records, the label he runs with Jesper Dahlback. They've been putting out acidic house and techno for a few years now. Murder Was The Bass was the biggest track so far.

Krome isn't part of DK anymore. Dahlback wrote ALL of "Murder Was The Bass", Krome did the artwork. I'm not sure that he's doing techno anymore, which is a shame

I asked him about this in Dublin a few months ago, he put it down to him not having enough funds to put out records right now... but that isn't much of an excuse, think of the amount of labels that would jump at the chance to put out new material. To be honest if he never puts out anything again then that's fair enough, he's not obliged to, however he keeps letting on as if there's more to come which frustrates people.

The contract he was tied into with R&S is no more now, so he is free to record with whoever he wants.

every couple years he has a) something "about" to come out and b) a new reason why he isn't releasing anything. this has been going on for 10-15 years.

(un)fortunately in '96 i heard some test work, all of course unreleased. it was brilliant.

thanks Sunil and as you said, it isn't an excuse especially seeing as he's only earning £X amount per set

Perhaps it's down to living up to expectations of what people want or not having the balls to put it out for fear of getting bad reviews.

or maybe he's run out of original ideas

That's a point, he does play regularly enough as well.

Yeah, he's a lot to live up to for sure... maybe the magic has been left in the past alright, and that's a long time ago now too.

Oh, and a few producers I miss...

DJ Hyperactive, Freddie Fresh (when he made more techno/electronic stuff).

Richard Turner seemed like a promising producer too, heard an electro track of his recently though which was pretty good.

Robert Armani I also wanted to hear more from until he majorly screwed over a few promoters in these parts

i'm not sure if that was a techno purist comment, but i purchased an Umek record not long ago. It's damn good too.

word...slip is wicked ~(or can be)..actually just bought a new ep from him last week called "the banger ep"..on a label i never heard of - dunloop recordings... was surprised as i thought he'd kind of slipped off the radar .theres a track on there "mystic" that is truely incredible.... proper moody bass and bleeps but totally having it... theres also a really poor remix of it by andreas kremer....
    broken cake was wicked

you releasing more stuff from him then?

    Tony Thomas.
    Allan Barratt

I liked their raw industrial style.

His tribal house seems to very popular these days though. Quitter
