    Default Club night questions

So, I`ve been meeting up with the collective and we`ve been bashing heads working out the autumn club arrangements, and we are looking to take a new approach.

Obviously we are going to have a techno room at the night club, but we are thinking of having the focus on a live electronics room.
The room will be live electronic music all night, not just techno, but progressive electronics. It`s an attempt to get people in that want to here live music, but have got dissaffected with the whole DJ scene.
Also the 3rd room we are still debating over.

I`m thinking breaks, from a very wide viewpoint. ie not having the same beats all night, some dub, some DnB, some new skool, some broken beat etc.

    Anyone have any opinions here?
What would you like to see?

Also if anyone knows any electronic acts of any type, please get them in touch with me.

Does anyone have courage to stand apart any more?

If it`s progressive and electronic then yes, I would be interested.

Happy hardcore! Get the kids involved.

    *snigger*

But seriously, perhaps the broken beat idea would be cool, I would also like to see live hip hop bands in. They always draw a crowd and are great to listen to.

There are many bands out there who play live with electronics of all sorts, it would be nice to see them given a forum to play on.

Get in some Grime / Dubstep.

The new Vex'd LP is awesome - though I have no idea if they do live sets.

Just be sure the bands you get on are actually good at playing instruments and not just some DJ's who got bored with decks so took up guitars.

I have heard quite a lot of this recently, former dance artists trying to be a band, and doing it REALLY badly.

They get away with it all to easily as well, I guess maybe cause the crowds have never really listened to a band before so dont know the difference between a good one or a bad one. Sort of like how a dance music virgin might not notice much difference between tiesto and derrick may.

Well, all bands need to submit a demo, and due to the sheer risk involved, we won`t be booking huge names, this is an entirely new project, and my last ever go at trying to refresh the scene in london. We have good finances but quite simply we can`t throw loads of money at the acts, because I don`t think the return will be reflected in the door takings. This is all about promoting the scene and building something new for eveyone, I`m a bit scared, but I hope it will work.

Anyone know any places where we can advertise for live electronic acts (no guitars or that)

sounds really good, I`ll be in touch with em, the audio is great.
I`m still a little retiscent about DnB as my experience of it in London, is that although I love the music, I want to keep the rude boys well away from it. But as we won`t be full on DnB that shouldn`t be a problem.
I am looking for live Digital Dub as well, if anyone knows of any
