Default Greg Gow - Echalon ep (BerettaMusic 006)

Ever pushing the limits of tech house, BerettaMusic drops another bombshell of a release! On the heels of Two Sides to Every Story EP which was charted and played by Ben Simms and John Aquaviva, comes a stellar slice of funky yet driving melodic techno. Starting things up is “Echalon” which at the root contains great percussion lines that drive the track along and epic synth lines that twist and turn all the way to the breakdown that will have the dance floor going mad! Kage’s remix brings his signature deep and groovy sound that he is known for; as well as re-editing the bassline and applying his phenomenal synth programming! On the flip side is “Flashback”, an atmospheric techno gem that slowly builds creating tension and mystery as the percussion, synth and bassline all harmoniously work together through the entire tune. On duty for the remix of Flashback is Ryski; where he adds his own touch of big room flavor, applying a huge kick drum combo with a blistering percussive work out. Another super quality release from the Beretta camp that will no doubt have wide appeal from progressive, tech house and techno dj’s alike.

    Feedback:

Adam Jay (Primate/Zync/Azure) – "Classic Greg Gow here. Lush stabs and pads with commanding percussion. Ryski's remix is the star track with its intense saturation and hypnotic shuffle. Kage's remix brings the EP full circle with some refined Detroit mood and groove."

Henry Chow (Zenit) – “Groovy techno with a sex appeal!!”

Jesse Somfay (Traum/Archipel) – "Toronto tech house meets Detroit techno at its finest. And Kage gets a gold star for his remix of aquatic depths. Late night groovy in my pants!"

Dustin Zahn (Abiotic/Mankind) – "Kage's remix is perfect material for both peak time and late-night sessions"
