I have a laptop with a mic in but no line in.....id like to modify it so it was a line in but i dont know how configure the mic input...does it have a physical pre-amp or would it all be done through software????.....if software ther must be a way of changing the level gain on the mic input(making it lower) to accomodate the higher line level..
anybody esle done this or summin similar???

buy an external sound card laptop onboard is crap quality. look at m-audio ones there pretty good
